Love cooking? Love kids? Come join our team! KOTR Academy is looking for a dependable, caring, and organized Preschool Cook to join our team! Our Cook plays an important role in the daily life of our school. You will be responsible for preparing healthy, nutritious, and kid-friendly meals and snacks for our preschool children while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen. We believe that healthy food helps children love, learn, and thrive, and we are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing food that children will enjoy. This is more than preparing meals, you'll become an important part of a team that cares deeply about children and families. What You'll Do Prepare healthy, nutritious, and child-friendly meals and snacks according to the school's menu. Prepare food in appropriate quantities for our enrolled children and staff. Follow recipes, menus, portion guidelines, and meal schedules. Follow all Washington State childcare licensing, USDA, health department, and food safety requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation areas. Properly store, label, date, and rotate food and supplies. Monitor food inventory and communicate when food or kitchen supplies need to be ordered. Follow safe food-handling practices and procedures to prevent cross-contamination. Carefully follow all food allergy and dietary requirements for individual children. Complete required food safety, temperature, inventory, and other kitchen documentation accurately and on time. Work closely with the Preschool Director and classroom staff to ensure meals and snacks are ready on schedule. Help create a positive and welcoming mealtime experience for children. Assist with other school responsibilities or in classrooms when needed. Contribute to a positive, supportive, and team-oriented school environment. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who: Loves children and enjoys working in a preschool environment. Has a genuine passion for cooking and preparing food for others. Is dependable, responsible, and able to work independently. Is organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy kitchen. Has experience with food preparation and cooking for groups. Understands proper food handling, sanitation, and food storage. Understands the importance of food allergies and preventing cross-contamination. Can follow recipes and prepare consistent portions. Has basic math skills for measuring ingredients and portions. Is comfortable learning and following Washington State childcare and food-service regulations. Has a Washington State Food Worker Card or is willing to obtain one. Is comfortable communicating with teachers and school leadership. Is willing to jump in and help wherever needed.

Experience Preferred:

Previous experience cooking or preparing food for groups. Experience working in a preschool, childcare center, school, healthcare facility, or other institutional kitchen. Experience preparing meals for children. Experience working with food allergies and special dietary needs. Childcare experience is a plus, but a love for children and a willingness to learn are just as important to us . Why Work at KOTR Academy?
