Qualifications:

1. Certified in food safety and sanitation at national level. 2. High School Diploma or GED. 3. Experience in quantity food production and preparation preferred. 4. Ability to supervise and coordinate food production team. 5. Effective communicator. 6. Able to make routine decisions regarding daily schedule. 7. Able to give clear and concise directions. 8. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills. 9. Ability to stand and/or walk 95% of the workday. 10. Able to lift 30 pounds.

Performance Responsibilities:

Duties will vary between schools) 1. Supervise and coordinate a production kitchen. 2. Estimate production needs and plan daily production schedules for kitchen staff. 3. Assumes responsibility for food preparation and packing it for transportation. 4. Maintains communication with cashier concerning revenues/expenses. 5. Inspect and maintain sanitary practices around cleaning, storage, and handling of food. Sanitize facility and equipment daily. Maintain high standards of personal hygiene. 6. Implement a safe work environment, which includes using proper body mechanics consistently, following safety and MSDS standards. 7. Review menus to determine the type and quantities of foods to be ordered/prepare. 8. Review invoices and monthly inventory of supplies delivered. 9. Prepare and oversee food preparation maintaining temperature and production records. 10. Assist staff. Check trays to insure three of the five food components have been served. 11. Meet established deadlines. Recognize and utilize time between routine workloads. 12. Performs similar or related duties as required or directed by Child Nutrition Coordinator.
