Hartford Union High School has a great opportunity for a full-time Production Cook. The position is an 8 hour per day position for each day of the school year. This position is responsible for providing quality meals and service to all students, staff, and contracted K8 schools. The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the School Nutrition Supervisor with guidance from the School Nutrition Specialist and Lead Cook. Food Service Experience is required for this position.

None. Operations Forecast production quantities for breakfast, vending, and after-school meals; assist Lead Cook with lunch projections and production schedules. Prepare and cook food for onsite and offsite meal service utilizing production worksheets, production schedules, and standardized recipes. Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, steamers, warmers, dishwashers, and other equipment and utensils. Maintain a clean and orderly work space; clean and sanitize preparation, serving, and cooking areas before, during, and after use. Accurately record food quantities, usage, and temperatures on production worksheets. Organize and pack food and supplies for K8 sites. Prepare and replenish food, beverages, and supplies before, during, and after meal service. Assist SN Specialist monitor inventories and order food. Follow all safety and quality standards. Record customer transitions and payments utilizing computer point-of-sale system. Understand USDA meal pattern requirements for reimbursable meals. Working Relationships Must be able to relate well and effectively work with Supervisor, individual school nutrition staff, students, other school personnel, and Administration. Ongoing and consistent collaboration with all School Nutrition positions. Effectively work with K8 schools contracted for meals. Effectively work with parents/guardians, families, and the public. Other Duties Participate in annual continuing education as required by USDA. Portion and serve meals to customers. Stock and replenish vending machines. Assist with training of department staff and substitutes. Serve as a positive role model for students. Remain free of any abuse of alcohol or illegal substances in the workplace in compliance with Policy 4122.01 throughout his/her employment in the District Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the District Administrator within the scope of the employment position.
