Full Job Description Overview:
The Schoenstatt Retreat Center is run by Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary, a Catholic community of consecrated women at the service of the Schoenstatt mission. We are seeking a faith-filled, service-minded Retreat Cook to prepare healthy, tasty meals for residents and guests while helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, portion, and present meals for small and large groups. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen, including dishes, equipment, floors, storage areas, and assigned workspaces. Follow food safety, sanitation, temperature control, labeling, and proper food storage procedures. Set up and break down food service lines, serving areas, conference rooms, tables, linens, silverware, and China. Stock and replenish supplies and ingredients; communicate when items are low or out of stock. Assist with shopping for food and kitchen needs as required. Support cooks, dishwashers, and retreat center staff with daily tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
2-5 years of previous cooking experience preferred. Ability to plan, adjust, and execute meal preparation for varying group sizes. Comfortable following directions, working independently or with a team, and staying flexible as needs change. Detail-oriented with the ability to use standard kitchen appliances and equipment safely. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Valid driver's license required for shopping trips, subject to employer auto insurance approval. Understanding of and compatibility with the mission, values, and vision of the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary; active membership in a Roman Catholic community is highly desirable.

Pay:
$17.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
