Assistant Cook Senior Monongalians, Inc. -
Morgantown, WV Schedule:
Variable hours Monday-Friday between 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM No weekends or holidays Make a Difference — One Meal at a Time At Senior Monongalians, Inc., we believe good food nourishes both body and spirit. We're seeking a dependable, experienced Kitchen Chef / Cook to lead meal preparation and oversee a small kitchen crew serving older adults in our community.   • Assist the Head Cook with daily meal production by preparing and serving meals according to the planned menu and portion guidelines.
  • Work as part of a team to create monthly menus based on program requirements, nutritional guidelines, budget constraints, and client needs.
  • Assemble meals for homebound clients and additional nutrition sites.
  • Maintain food quality and presentation and enforce sanitation and safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization to meet health regulations.
  • Assist in keeping accurate records for food usage, temperature logs, and supply receipts.
  • Support other kitchen or program needs as assigned. What We're Looking For
Required:
Current Food Handler's Card.
    Experience:
    2+ years cooking experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen or equivalent culinary training; prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
    • Food safety knowledge: Strong understanding of health regulations, sanitation standards, and portion control.
    Skills:
    Ability to read and follow recipes, measure portions, maintain records, and prepare reports.
      Leadership:
      Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
      • Physical requirements: Able to lift up to 50 pounds and safely use required protective equipment.
