NOTICE OF VACANCY SERVICE PERSONNEL
Position Title:
Cook II Peterstown Elementary and Middle Schools Job Description:
Interpret menus and recipes; prepare and serve meals; handle duties of the point of service program; maintain and/or upgrade skills; perform any and all other job related duties as assigned by school principal and food service coordinator.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED equivalent; have passed state and county cook test; food handler's card annually.
Salary:
$25,740 Base Salary for 200 days. (Salary based on experience and education level per Monroe County BOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation)

April 17, 2026 @3:00 p.m. In accordance with West Virginia Code §18A-2-7b, Monroe County Schools will be implementing the "Stay Put Rule." The WV Legislature has determined that frequent teacher changesâ€"especially in elementary gradesâ€"are not in the best interest of students. As a result, the Legislature intends to minimize personnel transfers between professional positions within the 20 days preceding the start of the instructional term. However, the county board, based on the superintendent's recommendation, may approve filling a position during this period if it is deemed to serve the best interest of the students.
