COOKS The Hitching Post Restaurant & Saloon Green River, Wyoming The Hitching Post Restaurant & Saloon is seeking dependable, hardworking cooks to join our kitchen team. We are hiring applicants at all experience levels, from individuals interested in learning the restaurant industry to experienced line cooks and qualified lead cooks. We are looking for team members who take pride in preparing quality food, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and supporting their coworkers during every shift. Available Positions Entry-Level Cook Line Cook Experienced Line Cook Lead Cook Position and starting pay will be determined based on experience, skill level, availability, and demonstrated job performance. Cook Responsibilities Prepare menu items according to established recipes, portions, and presentation standards. Read kitchen tickets carefully and accurately prepare guest orders. Safely operate kitchen equipment after receiving proper training. Follow food safety, sanitation, temperature-control, and handwashing procedures. Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized workstation. Complete opening, closing, prep, cleaning, and restocking responsibilities. Properly handle ingredients, equipment, dishes, and restaurant property. Help reduce unnecessary food waste by following recipes and portion standards. Communicate clearly with other cooks, servers, prep staff, dishwashers, and management. Assist other team members when needed and contribute to the overall success of the restaurant. Lead Cook Responsibilities In addition to regular cooking responsibilities, lead cook candidates may be expected to: Help direct kitchen operations during assigned shifts. Maintain consistency in food quality, portions, ticket execution, and presentation. Support and train newer kitchen employees. Communicate prep needs, shortages, equipment concerns, and shift information to management. Help maintain an efficient, professional, and respectful kitchen environment. Lead by example through punctuality, accountability, cleanliness, and recipe compliance. What We Are Looking For Dependable attendance and punctuality. Availability to work weekends and a variety of scheduled shifts. Ability to remain productive in a fast-paced kitchen. Willingness to follow recipes, procedures, and management direction. Strong attention to food quality, safety, cleanliness, and portion control. Ability to communicate professionally and work as part of a team. A positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to stand for extended periods and safely perform the physical duties of a restaurant kitchen. Previous restaurant experience is preferred for experienced and lead cook positions but is not required for entry-level applicants. What We Offer Opportunities for training and advancement.
