Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Kitchen Aide/Cook to join our vibrant culinary team. Part-time and Full- time positions available. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appealing meals, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and ensuring all dietary requirements are met with precision. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our residents or guests. Duties Assist with food preparation, cooking, and plating of meals according to dietary guidelines and menus Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and food processors Adhere strictly to food safety standards, sanitation protocols, and JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) regulations Handle food handling, storage, and sanitation tasks to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment Support dietary department needs by bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and managing meal service logistics Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy ingredients or equipment to prevent injury Work collaboratively with team members to meet meal deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service Skills Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry with a focus on food production and meal preparation Strong knowledge of dietary requirements for geriatric patients or individuals with special nutritional needs Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively while adhering to workplace safety protocols Familiarity with manual handling techniques, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling practices Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and portion control Experience working with diverse populations, including geriatric patients or those with specific dietary restrictions Knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) use as part of workplace safety standards Strong communication skills combined with a customer service mindset to ensure positive interactions with residents or patients Previous dietary aide or food service experience is highly desirable for success in this role Must have or obtain a ServSafe certificate within 30 days of hire Join us in providing nourishing meals that promote health and well-being!
