Car Wash Manager / Lead Detailer Tropical Auto Spa Lake Worth, FL Job Details Full-time From $50,000 a year 1 hour ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Spanish Teamwork English Team development Driver's License Full Job Description Car Wash Manager / Lead Detailer Position Overview Tropical Auto Spa is seeking a motivated, hands-on Car Wash Manager / Lead Detailer to oversee daily operations, lead our team, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. This is a working management position for someone who is comfortable leading from the floor—not from an office. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership and customer service skills with hands-on auto detailing experience and a sales-oriented mindset. You will be responsible for ensuring vehicles are completed efficiently and to a high standard, developing and managing the team, driving memberships and service upgrades, and personally leading higher-end detailing services such as paint correction, polishing, waxing, and ceramic coatings. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee all day-to-day car wash and detailing operations. Greet customers, understand their needs, recommend appropriate services, and ensure an excellent customer experience from arrival through vehicle delivery. Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and coach employees to maintain strong performance, accountability, and teamwork. Perform final quality-control inspections to ensure every vehicle is completed to Tropical Auto Spa standards before being returned to the customer. Serve as the lead detailer for premium/high-ticket services , including ceramic coatings, paint correction, polishing, waxing, stain removal, and other advanced detailing services. Drive revenue through membership sales, service upgrades, detailing packages, and appropriate upselling . Manage workflow across the bays to minimize customer wait times and maximize daily vehicle capacity. Monitor staffing and labor productivity based on customer volume and business needs. Maintain consistent service quality and ensure proper detailing techniques, chemicals, tools, and equipment are being used. Manage POS transactions, cash handling, opening/closing procedures, and daily operational reporting. Monitor inventory and coordinate ordering of chemicals, detailing supplies, towels, and other operating materials. Enforce company policies, procedures, safety standards, and employee expectations. Professionally resolve customer questions, concerns, and service issues. Ensure the property, customer areas, bays, equipment, and workspaces remain clean, organized, safe, and presentable. Identify operational issues and proactively recommend improvements. Report sales performance, staffing needs, customer issues, and operational concerns to ownership. Qualifications Prior management, supervisory, or team-lead experience, preferably within a car wash, detailing shop, automotive service business, or similar environment. Hands-on professional auto detailing experience strongly preferred. Experience with services such as ceramic coating, paint correction, machine polishing, waxing, interior stain removal, carpet/seat extraction, and headlight restoration is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills with the ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a positive team environment. Strong customer-service and sales skills. Comfortable recommending services, upselling, and selling recurring memberships. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to organize workflow and keep a fast-paced operation running efficiently. Comfortable using POS systems, scheduling tools, and basic operational reports. Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to take ownership of the operation. English required; Spanish strongly preferred . Valid driver's license and ability to safely move customer vehicles preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and remain active for extended periods. Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in South Florida weather conditions. Ability to perform hands-on washing and detailing work when needed.
