High-Volume Used Car Dealership | Owensboro, KY Vantacar is looking for an experienced Automotive Detail & Reconditioning Professional with strong paint-correction skills and an exceptional eye for detail. This is a rare opportunity for someone who takes pride in transforming used vehicles and wants to become an important part of a growing dealership operation. This is NOT a basic car-washing position. We need someone who understands professional automotive detailing, paint correction, interior restoration, vehicle reconditioning, quality control, and—just as importantly—how to work quickly and efficiently in a high-volume dealership environment.
PAINT CORRECTION & EXTERIOR SKILLS
The right candidate should be experienced with: Rotary and dual-action (DA) polishers Cutting, buffing, polishing, and finishing Heavy and light compounds Cutting, polishing, and finishing pads Identifying swirl marks, oxidation, scratches, water spots, and other paint defects One-step and multi-step paint correction Clay bars and synthetic decontamination products Proper masking before correction Wet sanding and spot correction when appropriate Paint-depth gauges and understanding when correction may be unsafe Headlight restoration Chrome, wheel, and exterior trim restoration Restoring faded exterior plastics and trim Final paint inspection using proper lighting A professional must understand the difference between improving a vehicle and damaging one. Knowing when NOT to aggressively cut, sand, buff, or apply heat is just as important as knowing how to do it.
INTERIOR RECONDITIONING
Candidate should be comfortable using professional equipment and techniques including: Heated carpet extractors Steam cleaners Commercial wet/dry vacuums Air compressors Tornador/compressed-air cleaning tools Drill brushes Interior detailing brushes and specialty tools Carpet and upholstery extraction Carpet and fabric dye/color restoration Deep stain removal Pet-hair removal Odor treatment Leather and vinyl cleaning/conditioning Interior plastic and trim restoration Cleaning difficult cracks, seams, vents, consoles, and hard-to-reach areas We expect the small areas that customers notice to be handled—not ignored.

DETAIL CHECKLIST & QUALITY-CONTROL PROCESS
Every vehicle will have a Detail/Reconditioning Checklist. The detailer is responsible for working through the checklist as the vehicle is being completed and marking each required item as the work is performed. This is an important part of the position.
The checklist helps us:
Track what has and has not been completed Maintain consistent quality Prevent small items from being overlooked Communicate between detailing, management, and sales Identify additional reconditioning needs Prioritize vehicles with upcoming customer appointments Verify that a vehicle is truly ready for photography, advertising, or delivery Do not simply check boxes at the end of the job. The checklist should be used as part of the actual reconditioning process. When you sign off on a vehicle, you're putting your name behind the quality of that vehicle.

We are a high-volume used-car dealership. We aren't looking for someone who spends eight hours making one average vehicle perfect when it could have been properly completed in three. At the same time, we don't want someone rushing through vehicles and leaving work unfinished.
