Full benefits including 401(k) match. Suburban Transportation is hiring an Overnight Fleet Detailer/Washer at our Syracuse facility. Our fleet of wheelchair-accessible vans and small buses comes off the road at night — that's when you keep them clean, sanitized, and ready for morning service. Why this overnight job is different: You'll train under and work alongside our lead detailer, who has been with us for 8 years. You won't be figured-it-out-yourself at 2 AM — you'll learn from someone who knows every vehicle in the fleet. Quiet, independent work. No customers, no traffic on your commute, no rush-hour chaos. Just you, the vehicles, and a clear nightly routine. Steady, year-round work — our vehicles run every day, so this job doesn't slow down seasonally. Consistent schedule. Same shift, same hours. No rotating shifts. What You'll Do Wash and detail vehicle interiors and exteriors Vacuum, wipe down, and sanitize interiors and high-touch surfaces Clean windshields and vehicle windows Clean wheelchair lifts, ramps, and securement equipment Stage vehicles so they're service-ready for morning pull-out Assist with vehicle movement, parking, and lot organization Report vehicle damage or safety concerns Light facility cleaning and non-mechanical maintenance support What We're Looking For Reliable and punctual — the morning fleet depends on your work being done Comfortable working overnight hours long-term (not as a stopgap) Able to follow a nightly checklist and keep a consistent routine Able to work independently after training Comfortable with physical work: standing, bending, lifting Valid driver's license Able to work outdoors in all weather No Detailing Experience? No problem with related experience. We'll train the right person. This job is a strong fit if you've worked in: Janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning — you already know sanitation standards, cleaning chemicals, and what "done right" looks like Warehouse, factory, or production work — you're used to overnight shifts Machine operation or material handling — you're comfortable working around large equipment and moving vehicles safely If you're reliable and take pride in your work, we'll teach you the detailing side.
