Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shop Hand to join our automotive service team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our auto detailing and repair facility by assisting with vehicle cleaning, moving vehicles, service department assistance and maintenance tasks. Your energetic approach and commitment to safety will ensure that vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation, providing our customers with exceptional service and quality results. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in auto detailing, vehicle care, and customer service within a dynamic environment. Responsibilities Operate standard passenger cars and light vehicles safely within the shop premises, adhering to all safe work practices. Perform vehicle exterior washing, interior cleaning, and detailing to meet quality standards. Use automotive buffers and polishing equipment for paint correction and buffing tasks, ensuring a flawless finish. Assist with vehicle paint correction processes, including prepping surfaces and applying finishing touches. Maintain vehicle cleanliness by cleaning equipment, tools, and work areas regularly to uphold a professional auto detailing facility. Support heavy lifting tasks involved in moving supplies or vehicles safely around the shop. Follow proper custodial practices to ensure the auto detailing facility remains organized, clean, and safe at all times. Experience Prior experience working in an auto detailing or car wash environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate. Familiarity with vehicle cleaning equipment such as automotive buffers and cleaning tools is advantageous. Experience with manual transmission vehicles is a plus for operating certain types of vehicles within the shop. Demonstrated ability to follow safe work practices and handle heavy lifting safely is essential. Previous janitorial or custodial experience can be beneficial in maintaining a clean work environment. Strong customer service skills are important for interacting professionally with clients when needed. A proactive attitude towards learning new skills related to vehicle detailing, buffing, and overall shop maintenance is highly valued.
