VPS Inc. is hiring a full-time Golf Cart Detailer for our Summerville, SC production facility. This person washes, cuts, buffs, polishes, and cleans finished electric golf and utility vehicles so they leave the plant looking new. Polishing experience is preferred. This is production detailing — detail-oriented work at a production pace, not a slow boutique shop.

Inc. designs and manufactures high-performance electric golf and utility vehicles. The Summerville plant is a working production facility — assembly, inventory, shipping, and receiving happen here every day. Finished carts can not ship looking dirty, swirled, or half-done. The detailer is the last set of eyes and hands on the product before it goes to a dealer or customer.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Basically similar to Car detailing, except on brand new product- Wash, decontaminate, cut, buff, and polish golf cart and utility vehicle bodies to a consistent, high-gloss finish. Use compounds, polishes, pads, and dual-action / rotary buffers correctly — cut enough to remove defects, then polish to a clean finish without burning through paint or gel coat. Remove swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, overspray, adhesive, and shop dirt from body panels, cowlings, and trim. Clean and dress plastics, metals, wheels, and other exterior surfaces so the unit looks complete, not just shiny in spots. Clean and prep units Clean interiors: seats, floors, dash, cup holders, under-seat areas, and cargo beds. Wipe down battery compartments, frames, and underbody areas as directed so units leave clean, not just pretty from 10 feet away. Prep finished vehicles for shipping, photos, dealer pickup, or customer delivery. Responsible to Flag/alertissues with finish, paint, body, or assembly defects instead of hiding them under polish. Tell the supervisor the same day. Keep up with production. Units stack up if detailing is slow. Work clean and fast without skipping steps. Maintain buffers, pads, towels, chemicals, and the detail bay. Pads washed or replaced. Chemicals labeled. Floor dry and clear. Follow chemical, PPE, and shop-safety rules. No mixing products you do not understand. Help with other plant clean-up or unit movement when the detail queue is clear.

WHO THIS IS FOR A

detail-oriented person who notices swirl, haze, missed spots, and dirty seams — and fixes them before someone else has to. Comfortable in a fast-paced production environment. This is a plant, not a Saturday car-wash side hustle. Willing to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and work around vehicles for a full shift. Takes pride in a finished product. Does not call a cart "done" when it is still dusty, streaked, or half-polished.

REQUIREMENTS

Able to wash, cut, buff, clean, and polish golf carts (or similar vehicles: cars, boats, powersports, RVs).

Preferred:

hands-on polishing / compounding experience with a buffer — auto detail shop, body shop, dealership, or powersports. Can follow a finish standard and repeat it unit after unit, not invent a new process every cart. Reliable attendance. On site in Summerville, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Able to lift up to 40 lbs, work on your feet, and handle detailing chemicals with proper PPE. Eligible to work in the United States. Employment is at-will and includes a 90-day probation period.

PREFERRED

1+ year professional detailing or paint-correction experience. Experience on golf carts, UTVs, ATVs, boats, or other gel-coat / automotive finishes. Knows when to cut vs. polish vs. stop and escalate a paint / body defect. Valid driver's license and comfort moving carts on the lot or in the plant.

Pay:

$16.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
