Position Overview Stemper Auto Body is looking for a dependable, motivated Detail & Reconditioning Manager to oversee the final cleaning and preparation of vehicles after collision repairs are completed. This is a hands-on position and an important part of our repair process. You will be responsible for making sure completed vehicles are thoroughly cleaned, presentable, and ready for customer delivery. You will also help keep the shop organized and assist with a variety of other duties as needed throughout the day. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, notices the little things, can manage their own workload, and is willing to jump in wherever needed. Primary Responsibilities Thoroughly clean vehicles after collision repairs are completed Wash and dry vehicle exteriors Vacuum and clean vehicle interiors Clean windows, mirrors, dashboards, door jambs, wheels, and other areas as needed Remove dust and debris left from the collision repair and refinishing process Remove minor adhesive, tape residue, overspray, compound, and other repair-related residue when appropriate Buff and polish vehicles when necessary Perform a final appearance inspection before vehicles are delivered to customers Coordinate with technicians, painters, estimators, and management to determine which vehicles need to be completed first Help organize and move vehicles around the facility and parking areas Maintain detailing equipment, chemicals, supplies, and work areas Keep the detail area clean, organized, and safe Help maintain general cleanliness throughout the shop Assist with snow removal, vehicle cleanup, parts movement, shop organization, and other general shop tasks when needed Train and help oversee other detailing employees as the department grows Perform other duties as assigned to help keep the shop operating efficiently Qualifications Previous automotive detailing or collision repair experience is preferred but not necessarily required for the right person. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, be dependable, work well without constant supervision, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment. Applicants must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable safely operating customer vehicles. The position requires being on your feet for extended periods and the ability to bend, kneel, reach, and lift supplies and equipment associated with the job.
