Marina Property & Dock Attendant - Part-Time Rock Harbor Marina - 3.0 Nashville, TN Job Details Part-time $15 - $17 an hour 16 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Outdoor work experience Customer service Groundskeeping Property maintenance Driver's License Full Job Description Job Summary Rock Harbor Marina is seeking a dependable, hands-on Marina Property & Dock Attendant to help keep our marina clean, organized, safe, and ready for customers. This part-time role is focused primarily on the cleanliness and day-to-day upkeep of the marina property, docks, grounds, restrooms, and common areas , while also serving as the marina's primary employee responsible for boat washing and cleaning services . With a flexible schedule and up to 30 hours available per week , this position can be a great fit for someone looking for supplemental income, a second job, or consistent part-time work . The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping both the marina property and customer boats looking their best, notices when something needs attention, and is willing to jump in wherever needed. Boat washing responsibilities may vary based on customer demand, with remaining hours focused on marina cleanliness, dock upkeep, and general property support. No specialized maintenance background is required. We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working outdoors, and willing to learn different aspects of marina operations. Primary Responsibilities Maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of marina docks, walkways, grounds, restrooms, buildings, work areas, and common spaces. Routinely walk the marina property to identify areas needing cleaning, organization, or attention. Sweep and clean docks, remove trash and debris, empty trash receptacles, and help keep dock areas clean and free of hazards. Perform routine cleaning of restrooms and other customer-facing marina facilities. Pressure wash docks, walkways, and other marina areas as needed. Help keep storage areas, workspaces, equipment areas, and marina supplies clean and organized. Assist with general grounds cleanup and seasonal property upkeep. Handle simple upkeep items such as painting touch-ups, replacing light bulbs, tightening basic hardware, and similar minor tasks within the employee's ability. Report damaged docks, equipment, lighting, utilities, or other property concerns to management. Boat Washing & Cleaning Serve as the marina's primary employee responsible for customer and marina boat washing. Wash and dry boat exteriors. Remove dirt, water spots, mildew, and general buildup from exterior surfaces. Vacuum and perform basic interior cleaning as needed. Clean and prepare boats before or after customer use, service, or delivery when applicable. Maintain boat washing supplies and keep cleaning equipment organized. Complete boat washing work with strong attention to detail and care around customer property. Coordinate boat washing workload based on customer demand and marina priorities. Marina Operations & Customer Service Provide friendly and professional service to slipholders, boaters, and marina guests. Assist with docking boats and handling lines when needed. Assist with fueling, pump-out services, shore power, and water connections when properly trained. Help move marina supplies and equipment when properly trained and authorized. Support the Harbor Master and marina management with general operational needs, special projects, and seasonal preparation. Monitor the marina for general safety, cleanliness, and security concerns. Perform other general marina duties as needed. Qualifications Dependable with consistent attendance and a strong work ethic. Takes initiative and is comfortable working independently. Strong attention to cleanliness and detail. Comfortable performing repetitive cleaning tasks and physical outdoor work. Willingness to perform marina cleaning and property upkeep as a significant part of the position. Comfortable washing and cleaning boats. Previous experience in boat washing, detailing, marina operations, custodial work, landscaping, hospitality, property upkeep, or general labor is helpful but not required. Comfortable interacting professionally with customers and marina guests. Willingness to learn basic marina operations and safety procedures. Basic familiarity with common hand tools is helpful but not required. Valid driver's license preferred. Must be comfortable working around water and able to swim. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on outdoor position.
Candidates must be able to:
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Walk and stand for extended periods. Bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform repetitive physical tasks. Work safely on and around docks, boats, and water. Regularly lift and move up to approximately 50 pounds. Work around wet or slippery surfaces and follow marina safety procedures. Safely enter and exit boats, docks, and other marina areas as needed. Schedule Part-time, up to 30 hours per week. Scheduling can be flexible based on employee availability, marina needs, and boat washing demand. Some weekend availability is preferred due to higher marina activity. This position may be especially well suited for someone looking for supplemental income, a second job, or a flexible part-time schedule. Pay $15.00-$17.00 per hour, based on experience and relevant skills.
