Job Description
Job Purpose Support the Company's sanitation food safety program by focusing on proper cleaning and sanitizing of plant equipment and building in a manner that meets and complies with all food safety policies, FDA and OSHA regulations. Essential Functions Perform basic machine disassembly/setup for cleaning (e.g., covers, piping, cover electrical with plastic) Complete all cleaning tasks per SSOPs Run basic CIP for cleaning Complete MSS projects and document accordingly Clean all plant lines properly per SSOPs; complete cleaning on time and pass pre-ops Follow intensified cleaning procedures as stated Perform pre-ops on machines, including use of ATP swabs Recognize and address equipment needing deep cleaning, notify proper departments, and ensure areas are cleaned Train Sanitors/Production on proper cleaning of lines using the 7 steps to proper food plant sanitation and SSOPs Train others on proper chemical usageTitrate chemicals Report employee safety, food safety, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel Comply with all employee safety/food safety requirements, training, policies, and proceduresPerform other job-related duties as assigned Qualifications (Education/Experience) 2-3 years working in a food plant as a sanitor cleaning equipment/machines QI trained; if not, willing to complete training Intermediate knowledge of pre-rinse/wash/rinse/sanitize steps Intermediate knowledge of the top down washing sequence for proper food safety Intermediate knowledge of the 7 steps to proper food plant sanitation Intermediate knowledge of chemical usage for sanitation and titrations Knowledge and understanding of MSS Basic CIP knowledge Intermediate knowledge of lockout/tagout programs and proper usage Intermediate computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office Ability to prioritize work Ability to problem-solve Ability to take a list of items from an audit, prioritize items, and complete Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team to complete assigned tasks Ability to train others and direct a team to finish a project Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
