Food Service Pay Rate:
$16.00 per hour, 0-20 hours per week depending on department need, availability of funds and student eligibility. This position will gain marketable work experience by working with Yavapai College staff, Faculty and affiliates in a group effort to support the mission, goals and values of Yavapai College. The dishwasher will be responsible for cleaning dishes for our college food service operation to ensure the kitchen has a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans, and glasses. Their duties include prioritizing loads of different types of kitchenware, hand-washing dishes, loading the dishwasher, and placing dishes to dry. Hard work and dedication will play a vital role in the overall success of the culinary team.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
- Load and unload dishwashing machines
- Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in appropriate storage areas
- Ensure there are always enough clean dishes and utensils
- Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition
- Check washing machines' operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues
- Work well as a member of a team to provide excellent service in a high-paced work environment
- Cleanliness and organization is key Minimum Expectations & Requirements All hiring documents must be completed prior to first work shift, including acceptable documentation for the I-9 Form.
Preferred Skills & Abilities Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a dishwasher in culinary, banquet, kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not required
- High school Diploma or GED
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple task simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills and sanitation skills
- Ability to follow instructions and help with various task, as needed Essential Functions The start date, to occur no sooner than July 1st of the current aid year, of this position will be determined by the hiring supervisor after an applicant is hired.
