In this vital role, you will ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchenware, utensils, and equipment, creating a safe and efficient environment for food preparation and service. Your energetic approach will help maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen organization, supporting the overall success of our restaurant operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, hospitality-focused environment where teamwork and attention to detail are key. Responsibilities Operate commercial dishwashing machines and hand-wash items when necessary, adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures. Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, kitchen equipment, and workstations following strict sanitation standards. Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup. Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the kitchen area efficiently. Follow proper manual handling techniques to lift heavy items safely and prevent injuries. Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, ensuring compliance with kitchen health and safety standards. Assist in food safety management by adhering to sanitation protocols and reporting any hazards or maintenance needs promptly. Experience Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate. Familiarity with food handling procedures and sanitation practices is advantageous. Experience operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or commercial cleaning tools is a plus. Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards, including proper knife skills for food prep support, is beneficial. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during daily tasks such as moving large quantities of dishes or supplies. Prior banquet or catering experience can be an asset but is not required; enthusiasm for learning is most important.
