Flexible - Days, Nights, Overnight, Early Mornings & Weekends About the Position Action Duct Cleaning of Orange County is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Technician. This position will begin as a 30-day contract. Based on performance, reliability, work quality, attendance, and business needs, there may be an opportunity to transition into a full-time position following the initial contract period. This is a hands-on position involving the cleaning and maintenance of commercial kitchen exhaust systems, including kitchen hoods, filters, exhaust ductwork, fans, and related equipment. Because commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning is frequently performed outside normal business hours, applicants must be willing and available to work varying schedules, including daytime, evening, overnight, early-morning, and weekend shifts as needed. Responsibilities Clean commercial kitchen exhaust hoods, filters, ductwork, and exhaust fans Remove grease and buildup using pressure washing, degreasers, scraping, and other approved cleaning methods Properly protect kitchen equipment and surrounding areas before beginning work Set up and break down equipment at each job site Safely operate pressure washers, ladders, cleaning equipment, and approved chemicals Maintain clean and professional job sites Thoroughly clean work areas following completion of service Follow company and job-site safety procedures Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members Work independently and as part of a crew Properly care for company vehicles, tools, and equipment Qualifications & Requirements Must have a valid driver's license Must submit an updated résumé Must provide professional references Must be dependable, punctual, hardworking, and self-motivated Must be comfortable performing physical, hands-on work Must be comfortable working around grease, water, cleaning chemicals, and commercial kitchen environments Must be comfortable working on ladders and in elevated work areas when required Must be available to work days, evenings, nights, overnight shifts, early mornings, and weekends as required by customer schedules Must be able to follow instructions and work efficiently with limited supervision Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude while representing the company Previous kitchen exhaust cleaning, hood cleaning, pressure washing, HVAC, duct cleaning, restaurant maintenance, or similar experience is a plus Vehicle Requirements A truck is NOT required for this position; however, having a reliable truck is a plus. Any authorized use of a personal vehicle for company business will be handled in accordance with applicable company policy and California law. Background Check Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check after a conditional offer of employment , as permitted by applicable law. Compensation $30.00-$50.00 per hour 30-Day Contract Period The selected candidate will initially be engaged for a 30-day contract period . During this period, the company will evaluate work quality, reliability, punctuality, safety practices, professionalism, ability to work independently, and overall job performance. Successful completion of the 30-day contract does not guarantee continued employment; however, candidates who demonstrate strong performance may be considered for a full-time position based on the company's staffing and business needs.
