This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with healthcare professionals and support residents' well-being through food service and sanitation excellence. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our residents while ensuring compliance with all safety and food handling standards. Duties Assist with meal preparation and food production, following dietary requirements and nutritional guidelines to support residents' health needs Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, ovens, and food service tools Handle food with care, adhering to strict food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols in accordance with JCAHO standards and local health regulations Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, dining spaces, and dishware through thorough cleaning and sanitation practices Support the dietary department by organizing supplies, managing manual handling tasks, and ensuring proper storage of food items Work with geriatric patients by providing friendly service, respecting dietary restrictions, and supporting their nutritional intake Follow workplace safety procedures diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices for heavy loads Experience Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred Familiarity with food production, meal preparation, and food handling techniques Knowledge of dietary requirements for diverse populations, especially geriatric patients or those with special nutritional needs Experience working with kitchen equipment and maintaining sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality service Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating excellent customer service skills Basic math skills for inventory management and portion control; CPR certification is a plus
