Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher to join our catering team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen. The Dishwasher will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, kitchen equipment, and utensils, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Washing Dishes:
Wash dishes by hand or in a commercial dishwasher. Scrape off excess food before loading dishes into the machine. Wash items like cutting boards and knives between orders. Ensure all items are properly dried and stored in their designated areas. Keeping the
Kitchen Clean:
Clean floors, empty trash, and sanitize the kitchen. Maintain equipment and work areas. Stock supplies like detergents and other cleaning materials. Assist with the cleaning of kitchen appliances, such as ovens, grills, and refrigerators, as needed. Helping with
Food Preparation:
Assist with food preparation tasks like chopping vegetables or preparing sauces. Set up workstations before meal prep. Assist kitchen staff with other tasks as needed.
Health and Safety:
Follow all health and safety guidelines and regulations, including proper handling and storage of chemicals. Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Kitchen Manager immediately.
Inventory and Supplies:
Monitor dishwashing supplies, including detergents and sanitizers, and report any shortages to the Kitchen Manager. Ensure all cleaning supplies are properly stored and labeled.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role in the catering or food service industry is preferred but not required.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs). Comfortable working in a hot, humid, and noisy environment.
Working Conditions:
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Availability to work varying shifts, including early mornings and late nights.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 24.0 per week
