Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Dishwasher/Food Prep team member to support our culinary operations. This role involves maintaining cleanliness standards, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring smooth kitchen functionality. Ideal candidates will have a passion for food service, strong attention to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in dietary departments, food handling, or restaurant settings is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and contribute to a team committed to quality and safety. Responsibilities Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety standards Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and techniques Follow recipes accurately to prepare meals and ensure consistency in presentation and taste Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, mixers, and other appliances necessary for meal prep Maintain cleanliness of workstations, prep areas, and storage spaces throughout shifts Support meal assembly and plating as directed by culinary staff or dietary aides Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and service needs Adhere to all safety standards in production, handling food safely at all times Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels Requirements Prior experience in food service, restaurant work, catering, or dietary departments is preferred Knowledge of food safety management and proper food handling procedures Skills in food preparation including slicing techniques, recipe adherence, and meal assembly Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Strong communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment Experience with cleaning protocols specific to food industry standards Culinary experience or dietary aide background is a plus but not mandatory Ability to work quickly and accurately in a busy setting while maintaining high safety standards Flexibility to work during scheduled shifts that may include early mornings or evenings as needed This position plays a vital role in supporting our culinary team by ensuring a clean environment and assisting with meal prep that meets our quality standards.
