Dishwasher Position Summary:

The Dishwasher is responsible for washing and sanitizing dishes throughout the shift while completing the required end-of-night cleaning and closing duties. The goal is to leave the dish area and assigned back-of-house areas completely clean, sanitary, organized, and ready for the opening crew.

Key Responsibilities:

Wash, rinse, and sanitize all dishes, utensils, pots, pans, trays, containers, and kitchen equipment. Operate and clean the commercial dishwasher according to restaurant procedures. Maintain proper sanitizer concentration and follow all food-safety and sanitation requirements. Keep up with dishes throughout the shift to prevent excessive buildup at closing. Return clean dishes, pans, utensils, and equipment to their designated storage areas. Clean and sanitize the entire dishwashing station at closing. Clean sinks, faucets, sprayers, dish racks, and surrounding surfaces. Remove food debris and clean strainers and designated floor drains. Sweep, scrub, degrease, and mop assigned kitchen and dish-area floors. Clean underneath and behind movable equipment where assigned. Wipe down walls, baseboards, shelving, and other surfaces in the dish area. Empty trash and recycling, replace liners, and take waste to the designated disposal area. Break down cardboard and dispose of it properly. Clean and properly store mops, brooms, squeegees, buckets, and other cleaning equipment. Assist with other closing cleaning duties when dishwashing responsibilities are completed. Complete the shift closing checklist before clocking out. Notify the manager or closing supervisor of broken equipment, leaks, clogged drains, sanitation concerns, or other maintenance issues. Follow all chemical-handling, PPE, food-safety, and workplace-safety procedures. Do not leave until assigned closing duties have been completed and the closing manager has approved the area. Perform other reasonable cleaning and restaurant-support duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Must be dependable and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Must be comfortable performing physically demanding cleaning duties and working around water, heat, grease, food debris, and approved cleaning chemicals. Must be able to stand for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, lift, carry, push, pull, and scrub.

From $17.00 per hour
