At 4th Street Market's incubator kitchens, we provide access to fully equipped commercial kitchen spaces, tailored workshops, and operational support that guides founders from concept to launch. Job Overview We're looking for a reliable and quality-focused Kitchen Steward to join our growing team, who will be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the incubator kitchens at the 4SM. This role is integral to the overall experience that members and students have at the 4SM. Prior experience in professional kitchens is a plus, but we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn and grow within the hospitality industry. Responsibilities Daily cleaning of commercial kitchens, following all cleaning SOPs to ensure consistent execution and a spotless environment. This includes maintaining floors, tables, refrigerators, stoves, ovens, hoods, drains, tabletop appliances, and all other kitchen surfaces. Washing all dishes for kitchen classes and maintaining a clean dish station. Cleaning and maintaining common areas such as walk-in refrigerators, freezers, hallways, and office spaces. Providing excellent support to Co-Lab members and guests by ensuring kitchens and shared spaces are consistently clean, organized, and ready for use. Testing kitchen appliances regularly to confirm proper functionality, performing light repairs or adjustments when needed, and promptly reporting larger issues to your supervisor. Performing simple maintenance tasks such as small paint touch-ups, and basic equipment upkeep. Restocking kitchens with cleaning supplies and ensuring all products are organized according to established SOPs. Maintaining well-organized storage areas to support smooth operations and easy member access. Taking inventory of all cleaning supplies and reporting replenishment needs to your supervisor in a timely and accurate manner. Experience Strong eye for detail and very high standards for organization and cleanliness Experience cleaning commercial kitchens Reliable transportation Familiarity with food handling and sanitation practices is advantageous Fluent speaking English (bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus) Prior exposure to culinary tasks such as basic cooking or food preparation is beneficial but not necessary. Schedule AM and PM shifts available 3-4 days per week (20-28 hours total) We are open seven days a week. Weekend day shifts are required. Compensation $18-$20 per hour
