This is a hands-on position responsible for helping keep our kitchen and back-of-house areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for daily service and events. The Lead Steward will serve as the main point person for the stewarding area , working closely with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and culinary team to ensure dishes, equipment, supplies, and work areas are properly cleaned, organized, and ready when needed.
Position Details Pay:
$21.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience
Typical Schedule:
7:00 AM-3:30 PM, Wednesday through Sunday Schedule may vary based on Club operations, events, and business needs. Responsibilities Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Ensure kitchen equipment and service items are clean, sanitized, and ready before use. Keep the dishwashing and stewarding areas clean, organized, and running efficiently. Receive deliveries and assist with unloading, organizing, and putting away food, products, and supplies. Maintain clean and organized kitchen, storage, and receiving areas. Monitor cleaning supplies, dish chemicals, and other stewarding supplies and communicate when items need to be restocked. Assist with trash, recycling, and food waste removal. Support banquet and event setup and breakdown, including cleaning and organizing equipment and serviceware. Help ensure proper cleaning and sanitation procedures are followed within the stewarding area. Work closely with the culinary team to ensure clean equipment and supplies are available when needed. Assist with other kitchen and stewarding responsibilities as needed. What We're Looking For Previous dishwashing, stewarding, kitchen utility, or similar food service experience preferred. Experience in a restaurant, private club, hotel, catering, or banquet environment is a plus. Knowledge of basic kitchen sanitation and safe cleaning practices. Dependable, organized, and able to take ownership of responsibilities. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks. Comfortable working independently while also being part of a team. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, push, and pull throughout the shift. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in a commercial kitchen environment that may be hot, humid, wet, and noisy.
