Water Street Cafe is a local culinary destination in the center of the seaside village of Stonington Borough. For over 30 years, our chef driven menu, whimsical designs, cozy atmosphere and welcoming service have delighted customers both near and far. We are known for our European and Asian inspired signature dishes which include Stonington fresh caught seafood and produce sourced from local farmers. We have been highly rated by The New York Times, Zagats, Connecticut Magazine, and local publications. We're currently hiring a Dishwasher. You have an opportunity to work and grow with a small restaurant family that fosters a team environment. The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the workplace according to health and food safety guidelines. This position will require operating commercial dish washing machines and following proper usage of a three compartment sink.

Competencies & Qualifications:

At least 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen preferred but not necessary to start. We will train anyone with a good attitude ready to work. Understanding of proper cleaning procedures to maintain workplace sanitation. Must be familiar with or willing to learn how to operate a commercial dishwasher properly and use basic cleaning tools such as a mop and broom. Must be able to perform any given task assigned to them by the chef. Ability to lift large items up to 30 pounds. Must be able to communicate clearly and work closely with managers and teammates Demonstrate professionalism in the work place through appearance (uniform/hygiene), work ethic (showing up to scheduled shifts on time) and teamwork.
