Job Description

Reports to: Chef de Cuisine Ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans, maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kitchen and dishwashing area, and supporting the kitchen team in maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans.
  • Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in their respective storage areas.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area
  • Empty and clean trash receptacles
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of chemicals and cleaning supplies
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and surfaces
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and inform the manager of any shortages
  • Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed
  • Perform additional cleaning duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or head chef
Education and Experience:
  • Previous experience as a dishwasher in a high-volume restaurant
  • Basic knowledge of sanitation and cleanliness standards
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures
Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs
  • Must be able to perform repetitive bending, stopping, twisting, and lifting of products and supplies
