You will be responsible for ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to uphold the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Your energetic approach will contribute to the smooth operation of our restaurant or catering service, supporting chefs and food service staff in delivering exceptional experiences to our guests. Responsibilities Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently while adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures. Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools promptly after use. Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup. Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing station. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sweeping, mopping, and organizing work areas regularly. Follow all health and safety standards related to sanitation, manual handling, and kitchen safety protocols. Assist with light food handling tasks during busy service times or special events such as banquets or catering functions. Requirements Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential. Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation standards is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large quantities of dishes or supplies. Strong manual handling skills with attention to detail in cleaning procedures. Basic knife skills and familiarity with operating kitchen equipment are a plus. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting kitchen operations. Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and kitchen health and safety standards.
