Serving approximately 150 students, our food program allows children to eat nutritious and delicious meals throughout the school day. We are hiring a qualified dishwasher and prep cook to assist with cleaning, dishwashing, and minor food prepping from 1:00-4:00 PM. Responsibilities Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping fruits, assembling ingredients, and portioning items according to recipes and safety standards Support the head chef by maintaining a tidy and hygienic work environment Follow food safety sanitizing procedures diligently to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy pots, trays, or boxes safely while adhering to proper ergonomic practices Operate kitchen equipment like dishwashers, sanitizers, etc. with care and proficiency Maintain kitchen health and safety standards by monitoring sanitation practices and reporting any hazards or issues promptly Skills Strong understanding of food handling, preparation, and sanitation procedures in a fast-paced environment Experience with dishwashing practices and operating commercial kitchen equipment confidently Knowledge of food safety management principles and adherence to health regulations Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during busy service hours Prior restaurant or catering experience preferred; hospitality background is a plus Demonstrated commitment to cleanliness, organization, and teamwork in a kitchen setting This role is perfect for motivated individuals who are looking for commercial kitchen experience working underneath an experienced head chef.
