•Dishwasher
Overview:
A Food Service
•Dishwasher at Danville Community School District operates commercial dish machines and manually washes oversized pots, pans, or delicate items. Monitor required water temperatures and chemical sanitizer levels.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous food service or cafeteria experience is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 45 pounds.
Responsibilities:
Wash and sanitize cafeteria trays, kitchenware, pots and pans while maintaining school nutrition standards
As needed, help serve breakfast and lunch to students, staff, and visitors in a friendly and efficient manner
As needed, help operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, steamers, mixers, and dishwashers
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, serving lines, dining areas, and food preparation equipment
Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment
Receive, inspect, and properly store food deliveries and supplies
Follow all local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation regulations
Monitor food temperatures and maintain proper food handling procedures
Assist with inventory control and notify director when supplies are low, as needed
Dispose of waste and recycling according to school procedures
Work collaboratively with cafeteria staff, school administrators, and students to provide excellent customer service
Assist in setting up and tearing down service area
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Director or Administration
Working Condition:
Work is performed in a commercial school kitchen and cafeteria setting
Exposed to heat, cold, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen equipment
Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive motions throughout the workday
Typical schedule follows the school calendar, with daytime hours from 11am-3:15pm
