Job Overview We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Dietary Aide/Dishwasher to join our caregiving team. This vital role supports the dietary department by assisting with food service, meal preparation, sanitation, and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, adhere to safety standards, and work effectively with geriatric patients in a healthcare setting. Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, dining rooms, and food service equipment in compliance with sanitation standards. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, ovens, and food handling tools. Support the dietary team by bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed. Adhere to all workplace safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices. Manage manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies while maintaining safe techniques. Follow all food safety regulations and assist in inventory management to ensure freshness and proper storage of food items. Qualifications Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is preferred. Knowledge of food production, meal preparation, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. Familiarity with dietary requirements for geriatric or healthcare populations is advantageous. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining high standards of customer service. Basic math skills for inventory tracking and portion control.
