56 per hour O'Leary Middle School Posted 8/17/2026 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate traywasher to join our team at O'Leary Middle School. This part-time position is 3 hours of work per day, focusing on washing and sanitizing dishes and cleaning and preparing the kitchen to uphold high food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a love for life, an understanding of food safety practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities Equipment Operation:
Load and unload trays into commercial dishwasher or manually wash dishes using the wash, rinse, and sanitize method.
Sanitation:
Ensure high water temperatures and specialized chemical sanitizers are used to properly clean and sanitize dishes and equipment.
Quality Control:
Inspect washed trays and dishes for proper cleaning and sanitation.
Documentation:
Complete daily logs and documentation regarding temperature and sanitation checks to maintain compliance.
Maintenance & Safety:
Keep the wash area clean and report any machine concerns to your supervisor. Complete at least weekly deliming of dishwasher and other regular machine maintenance.
Training and continuing education:
Participate in training and professional development opportunities as needed. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during meal service times. Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a cooking or food service role is a plus.
  • Food safety and sanitation certification preferred, able to obtain on the job.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy items as needed.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
