ABOUT FARE

At FARE, we're on a mission to prove that "fast food" can be real food. We're a fast-casual restaurant serving a seasonally based, nutrition-forward, craveable menu — handcrafted from scratch daily in each location. Born and built in Chicago, FARE is growing, and we're looking for team members who take pride in a clean, safe, and well-run kitchen.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Dishwasher / Kitchen Sanitation role is essential to FARE's ability to deliver scratch-made food at the highest standard. A clean kitchen is a safe kitchen — and at FARE, we hold that standard seriously. You'll keep our dishes, equipment, and facility in peak condition so our kitchen team can do what they do best. This role is a great entry point into the hospitality industry with real opportunities to grow! We're looking for two part-time dishwasher roles

•Monday through Thursday from 10am to 2pm.

•Monday through Thursday from 5pm to 9:30pm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Wash, rinse, and sanitize all dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware throughout the shift Dry and properly store all cleaned items in designated areas Clean and sanitize all on-site kitchen equipment to FARE standards Maintain and monitor the dish machine — report any issues to kitchen leadership promptly Scrub and clean floors throughout the kitchen and front-of-house areas Clean and sanitize bathrooms on a regular schedule during the shift Wipe down and sanitize walls, shelving, and surfaces in kitchen and service areas Clean sinks and ensure proper drainage throughout the shift Manage patio cleanup and ensure outdoor furniture and surfaces are clean and guest-ready Handle storage organization — ensure clean items are properly stocked and accessible Take out trash and recycling as needed; maintain clean trash and utility areas Arrive on time and ready to work Uphold FARE's standards for cleanliness, hospitality, and kitchen culture

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:

Valid Illinois Food Handler Certificate (ANSI-CFP approved) — must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already held; proof must be kept on-site for CDPH inspection Solid understanding of food safety principles: sanitation, temperature control, and cross-contamination prevention Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, standing for extended periods (up to 8+ hours) Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle repetitive physical tasks Must be at least 16 years of age; applicants ages 16-17 may not operate designated hazardous equipment per Illinois law

Preferred:

Prior experience in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, or hospitality environment Familiarity with commercial dish machines and kitchen sanitation protocols Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
