Duties Prepare Japanese dishes with precision, including techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production that adhere to recipe standards and presentation quality. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, grills, stoves, and food handling tools to support high-volume production. Maintain strict food safety standards by following sanitizing procedures, proper food handling techniques, and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe dining environment. Support the dietary department by understanding dietary restrictions and assisting in meal preparation that meets specific dietary needs. Clear dishes promptly as a dishwasher while maintaining cleanliness of kitchen stations; ensure all dishware is sanitized according to food safety management practices. Experience Previous food service experience in a restaurant or catering setting is preferred; experience with Japanese cuisine is a must . Familiarity with food preparation techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and general cooking methods. Knowledge of food safety procedures including sanitizing protocols and proper food handling practices. Experience operating kitchen equipment safely in high-volume environments. Background in dietary aide roles or dietary department work enhances understanding of special dietary needs. Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation contribute to efficient kitchen operations. Prior experience working in fine dining or high-volume production settings demonstrates the ability to maintain quality under pressure.
