Dishwasher (PRN) Join the Hopedale Medical Complex Team! Hopedale Medical Complex is seeking a dependable, hardworking Dishwasher to join our Dietary Services team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment while supporting meal service for our patients, residents, visitors, and staff. HMC Offers HMC Wellness Center membership 401(k) plan with employer match Position Summary The Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment while maintaining the dish room in a clean and organized condition. This position supports daily food service operations and assists with other dietary duties as needed. Typical weekday shifts vary, with rotating weekend shifts. Essential Responsibilities Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, silverware, cookware, and kitchen utensils. Operate and maintain the dish machine according to established procedures. Keep the dish room clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift. Follow all HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention standards. Set up beverage carts with ice water and iced tea. Presoak, sort, and organize silverware for meal service. Assist with tray line preparation by stocking trays, napkins, wrapped silverware, lids, placemats, and menu cards. Stage meal trays for dietary staff during service. Sweep and mop kitchen and dish room floors. Empty trash and recycling containers and maintain a clean work environment. Assist with additional kitchen and dietary duties as assigned. Work cooperatively with dietary staff to ensure efficient meal service for patients and residents. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Basic math skills. Excellent customer service and teamwork skills. Dependable with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including rotating weekends. Ability to follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention policies. Constantly (67-100% of the time): Standing, walking, talking, hearing, near visual acuity, and use of hands and fingers for dishwashing, cleaning, and food service activities. Frequently (34-66% of the time): Reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, repetitive hand and wrist movements, and operating kitchen equipment. Occasionally (11-33% of the time): Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; moving supply carts and dish racks. Rarely (Less than 10% of the time): Climbing step stools or ladders to retrieve supplies.
