Job Description
Job Overview:
The Dishwasher plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within the facility's kitchen and dining areas. This position supports the nutritional and therapeutic needs of clients by ensuring all kitchenware, utensils, and food preparation areas are properly cleaned and sanitized according to health, safety, and infection control standards. The Dishwasher also assists the food service team in basic kitchen duties, contributing to a supportive environment for clients and staff.Duties & Responsibilities:
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store all dishes, utensils, cookware, and trays using industrial dishwashing equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of food preparation and dining areas, including sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal.
- Follow strict infection control, sanitation, and safety protocols, including safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Monitor dishwashing supplies and notify supervisor when reordering is needed.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic food prep and meal service setup as needed.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations, as well as facility policies.
- Participate in maintaining a calm, respectful, and professional kitchen environment in alignment with the mission of the facility.
