Job Description
Quality Manager Position Summary Mac Machine & Metal Works is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and continuously improveour Quality Management System across our manufacturing operations. This individual will be responsiblefor ensuring products meet customer requirements and industry standards while driving a culture ofquality throughout the organization. The Quality Manager will be responsible for maintaining and continually improving our ISO 9001-certified Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, and driving a culture ofcontinuous improvement throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in manufacturing quality systems, customerquality requirements, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and leading internal quality initiatives.
This position works closely with production, engineering, sales, and customers to ensure consistent deliveryof high-quality products. Essential Responsibilities Lead all aspects of the company's Quality Management System (QMS). Maintain and continuously improve the company's ISO 9001-certified Quality Management System. Develop, implement, and maintain quality policies, procedures, and work instructions. Ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and applicable industry standards. Plan and manage internal and external quality audits and coordinate corrective actions. Investigate customer complaints and nonconforming products using root cause analysis and Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA) methodologies. Review and approve inspection plans, quality documentation, first article inspections (FAIs), and quality records. Monitor quality performance metrics including scrap, rework, customer returns, and corrective action effectiveness. Collaborate with production teams to improve manufacturing processes, reduce defects, and increase efficiency. Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure product conformity. Train employees on quality standards, inspection methods, quality procedures, and customer-specific requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns, supplier quality issues, and quality-related communications. Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving methodologies. Participate in new product launches, APQP activities, and process validation as required. Maintain calibration records and ensure all inspection and measuring equipment remains compliant. Prepare quality reports, analyze trends, and present quality performance metrics to companyleadership. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field, or equivalentmanufacturing quality experience. Quality Management System. Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems and quality assurance principles. Experience interpreting engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Knowledge of precision inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, andCMM reporting. Experience leading root cause investigations utilizing methodologies such as 5 Why, FishboneDiagram, and CAPA. Experience conducting internal audits and managing corrective actions. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems. Preferred Experience in metal stamping, machining, welding, or metal fabrication. Experience withIATF 16949
quality standards. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or similar certification. Experience with PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA. Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience.
