The Dishwasher keeps a steady supply of clean plates, glasses, silverware, pots, and pans for the culinary and service teams. This role maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in the dish room and kitchen. Primary Duties include (but are not limited to):

Washing and Sanitizing:

Scrape, rinse, and load dirty dishes into commercial dish machines; hand-wash large pots, pans, and fragile glassware.

Storage and Organization:

Stock clean dishware, utensils, and cookware in designated storage zones.

Kitchen Cleanliness:

Sweep and mop floors, empty trash bins, break down cardboard boxes, and wipe down work surfaces.

Equipment Care:

Monitor machine temperatures and soap levels, reporting any mechanical issues right away.

General Support:

Assist cooks or servers with basic tasks like minor food prep or stocking station supplies when needed. Follows the established cleaning procedures and schedules Follows department checklist depending on assigned shift Perform duties in a safe manner; follow safety procedures and promote a safe work environment; help identify where the safety in daily operations and/or work environment can improve Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the BFC Employee Handbook and other related documents Attends trainings that aid in professional development and relay information of updates to policies and procedures Is consistently at work and on time, following the Co-op's employee handbook if expecting to be absent or tardy Practice dependability by following instructions and practicing good time management by completing assigned tasks in a timely manner Contributes to building a positive team spirit; display enthusiasm and promote a friendly group work environment Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by the Department or Store Supervisor Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma/GED or relevant qualification required Able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment with a professional and friendly attitude Must be reliable, professional, and detail-oriented Ability to follow instructions and procedures Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to understand and follow safety procedures Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies Excellent customer service, communication skills, and solution-oriented Prepared to execute all duties and responsibilities in a safe and timely manner
