This energetic role is vital in maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment while supporting food preparation and service. You will play a key part in ensuring food safety standards are met, dishes are sanitized efficiently, and ingredients are prepped for meal service. Duties Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold cleanliness standards. Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following recipe guidelines. Support meal preparation by assembling ingredients and preparing simple components for cooking or serving. Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, ovens, mixers, and slicing machines. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, floors, and storage areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure food safety management. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal prep and service activities efficiently. Experience Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is highly desirable. Experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating familiarity with food industry standards. Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques. Skills in operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Familiarity with safety standards in production environments and food handling protocols. Culinary experience including knife skills, slicing techniques, and basic cooking methods. Catering or serving experience is a plus, highlighting your ability to support various food service settings.
