Overview Sobo Kitchen & Bar, 6 W Cross Street Baltimore MD 21230Join our dynamic culinary team as a Dishwasher/Food Prep specialist, where your energy and attention to detail will play a vital role in creating a seamless dining experience. In this essential position, you'll be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment while assisting with food preparation and basic culinary tasks. Your dedication ensures that our kitchen operates efficiently, food safety standards are upheld, and our guests receive top-quality service. This paid role offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills, gain restaurant experience, and contribute to a vibrant food service environment. Responsibilities Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly to ensure cleanliness and availability for food preparation and service Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, slicing, assembling ingredients, and portioning to support chefs and kitchen staff Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to maintain hygiene standards in all aspects of food service Support meal preparation by organizing ingredients, setting up workstations, and assisting with basic cooking tasks under supervision Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately Help with catering setups or special event preparations as needed to ensure smooth operations during busy periods Adhere to all food safety regulations and company policies to promote a safe and efficient working environment Qualifications Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued Experience in food service, restaurant work, or the food industry is highly advantageous Basic knife skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques are beneficial Strong understanding of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting kitchen operations Willingness to learn culinary skills such as cooking, menu planning assistance, and food presentation This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to build culinary expertise while contributing to a lively team environment. Pay:
