Responsibilities Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools efficiently and safely. Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations. Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping, peeling, or organizing ingredients under supervision. Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas. Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy pots, trays, or boxes while adhering to proper lifting techniques for safety. Maintain sanitation standards by regularly cleaning dish racks, sinks, floors, and work surfaces throughout the shift. Support kitchen staff during busy periods by providing timely assistance with food handling and kitchen organization. Requirements Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential. Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures required to uphold health standards. Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers and sinks safely and effectively. Physical stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and manual handling tasks throughout shifts. Familiarity with kitchen health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for all team members. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting culinary operations in a fast-paced setting. Previous banquet or catering experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
