Job Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Prep Cook/Dishwasher, where your energy and attention to detail will help create a seamless kitchen operation. In this vital role, you'll assist with food preparation, maintain impeccable cleanliness standards, and support the culinary staff in delivering delicious, high-quality meals. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop foundational culinary skills while contributing to a vibrant food service environment. Duties Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, and chopping vegetables, fruits, and other items using proper knife skills and slicing techniques. Assist in following recipes accurately to ensure meal consistency and quality adherence. Support the kitchen team with food prep tasks for various menus, including catering events if applicable. Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, fryers, and dishwashers safely and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes, sanitizing workstations, and ensuring all kitchen areas meet food safety standards in production. Handle food items according to proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure safety. Support meal preparation efforts by organizing ingredients and assisting with plating under supervision. Follow safety standards in production environments to promote a safe working space for all staff members. Skills Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable. Strong background in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of food industry best practices. Proficiency in operating kitchen equipment and understanding of safety standards in production settings. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and team members. Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and culinary techniques such as slicing, chopping, and portioning. Ability to handle food safely with proper food handling practices and food safety management principles. Experience with catering or large-scale meal prep is a plus. Pay:
