Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Dishwasher/Light Prep! This vital role ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchenware and food preparation areas, supporting a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. You will be the backbone of our food service environment, maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and organization. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming atmosphere for both staff and guests, contributing to memorable dining experiences. Whether assisting with basic food prep or managing dishwashing duties, your efforts will keep our kitchen running seamlessly. Duties Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures Assist with light food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, or portioning items to support chefs and kitchen staff Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas through regular cleaning and sanitation practices Properly handle and store food items following food handling guidelines to ensure freshness and safety Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and assisting in maintaining a tidy dining environment when needed Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies or equipment safely using manual handling techniques Qualifications Previous experience in food service, restaurant, catering, hotel, or hospitality environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key! Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation standards is highly desirable Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy loads when necessary Basic knife skills for light prep work are a plus but training can be provided Excellent attention to detail in cleaning and food handling procedures Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety Embark on a rewarding journey where your dedication keeps our kitchens vibrant and efficient!
