Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking dependable and hardworking Line / Prep Cooks & Dishwashers to join our kitchen team. This is a cross-functional back-of-house position. Team members may be assigned to line cooking, food preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, restocking, or other kitchen support duties based on daily operational needs. Candidates must be comfortable rotating between kitchen stations and assisting with dishwashing and general cleaning responsibilities when needed. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, portion specifications, and restaurant procedures. Prepare meats, vegetables, sauces, marinades, garnishes, and other ingredients for daily service. Perform basic knife work and portion ingredients accurately and consistently. Set up, stock, clean, and maintain assigned cooking and preparation stations. Cook, assemble, and plate menu items according to restaurant quality standards. Monitor food quality, portion size, cooking time, and presentation. Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, food containers, and kitchen equipment. Operate commercial dishwashing equipment and use three-compartment sinks according to established procedures. Maintain adequate availability of clean dishes, cookware, and utensils during service. Remove trash and maintain designated waste and dishwashing areas. Clean and sanitize floors, work surfaces, equipment, cutting boards, and other assigned kitchen areas. Label, date, rotate, and properly store prepared food and ingredients. Follow FIFO and applicable food-temperature-control procedures. Restock ingredients, supplies, dishes, and equipment as needed. Assist other kitchen stations during high-volume service. Follow food-safety, sanitation, chemical-safety, allergen, cross-contamination, and workplace-safety procedures. Complete assigned opening, preparation, cleaning, dishwashing, and closing duties. Perform other reasonable back-of-house duties based on operational needs. Experience & Qualifications Previous restaurant, commercial-kitchen, prep-cook, line-cook, or dishwashing experience preferred. Previous Asian restaurant experience is a plus. BBQ, Korean BBQ, Japanese BBQ, hot pot, buffet, or other high-volume restaurant experience is a plus. Basic knife and food-preparation skills preferred. Experience using commercial dishwashing equipment and three-compartment sinks is a plus. Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, labeling, dating, FIFO, and temperature-control practices preferred. Ability and willingness to rotate between cooking, preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, and kitchen-support responsibilities. Ability to follow recipes, preparation specifications, cleaning procedures, and management instructions. Ability to work efficiently and maintain cleanliness during high-volume service. Strong teamwork and work-related communication skills. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Essential Functions & Physical Requirements This is a physically active back-of-house restaurant position. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation , including: Stand and move for extended periods, including for the majority of a scheduled shift. Frequently move between cooking, preparation, storage, dishwashing, and cleaning areas. Frequently bend, reach, twist, push, pull, and perform repetitive kitchen movements. Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements associated with food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and dishwashing. Safely use knives, cooking equipment, commercial dishwashing equipment, and other applicable restaurant equipment. Safely work around hot surfaces, steam, grease, water, cleaning products, sharp utensils, and wet or slippery surfaces. Lift, carry, and move ingredients, cookware, dishes, food containers, trash, and restaurant supplies consistent with the actual requirements of the assigned station. Effectively communicate work-related information with kitchen employees and managers. Maintain speed, organization, sanitation, and attention to safety during high-volume service. Perform repetitive cleaning and dishwashing responsibilities throughout the shift when assigned. Compensation & Benefits This position pays $15.92 + Tips per hour , depending on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
