In this role, you will be the backbone of our kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food preparation, kitchen safety, and restaurant operations while contributing to a vibrant culinary atmosphere. Responsibilities Efficiently wash dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper dishwashing techniques and sanitizing procedures to ensure cleanliness and safety. Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, assembling ingredients, and portioning foods according to established recipes and standards. Support the bussing of tables and clearing of dining areas to maintain a clean and organized service environment. Follow all food safety management protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices aligned with health regulations. Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including dishwashers, ovens, mixers, and other small appliances. Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy pots or boxes of supplies while maintaining proper ergonomic techniques to prevent injury. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by adhering to sanitation standards, including cleaning surfaces, floors, and storage areas regularly. Assist with catering or banquet setups when required, ensuring all food safety standards are upheld during service. Experience Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is highly valued. Familiarity with food preparation techniques and basic knife skills is advantageous. Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards, sanitation procedures, and food safety management practices is a plus. Experience with dishwashing or kitchen sanitation roles demonstrates your ability to maintain hygiene standards effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual handling tasks efficiently. Prior catering or banquet experience can be beneficial for supporting special events or large-scale service occasions.
