Job Description
We are looking for a part-time dishwasher, kitchen help for Bacchus Restaurant in New Paltz The dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen environment. This position is essential in supporting the culinary team by ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. The Dishwasher contributes to a positive dining experience by upholding high standards of hygiene and organization within the food service area. Duties Operate dishwashing machines and hand wash items as needed to ensure all dishes, glassware, and utensils are clean. Maintain cleanliness in the dishwashing area, including sweeping and mopping floors. Sort and stack clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated areas. Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including bussing tables and helping cooks during peak hours. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the kitchen manager. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service. Cleaning the restaurant's floors, bathrooms, and grounds, emptying trash, and ensuring the restaurant is clean and sanitary. Skills Strong attention to detail for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. Experience in hospitality or food service environments is preferred but not required. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks. Basic culinary skills or knowledge of food preparation techniques is a plus. Good communication skills to work collaboratively with team members. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as necessary. Familiarity with bussing practices in a dining setting is advantageous.
