Responsibilities Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures. Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas through regular cleaning and sanitation practices. Bypass dirty dishes from dining areas or bussing stations to the dishwashing station efficiently while adhering to sanitation standards. Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of pots, pans, and bulk supplies safely following proper handling techniques. Support food safety management by following all sanitation protocols and health regulations to prevent contamination. Operate kitchen equipment responsibly, including dishwashers, sinks, and other small appliances necessary for daily operations. Experience Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; we value motivated individuals eager to learn. Familiarity with food handling procedures and sanitation standards is advantageous. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Basic knife skills or experience with food preparation tasks is a plus but not mandatory. Strong understanding of kitchen health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
