Slingerlands is looking for an exceptionally reliable, hardworking person to support our wonderful kitchen staff and chefs. This is more than a dishwashing position. We need someone with a strong eye for cleanliness who notices crumbs in corners, surfaces that need wiping, and areas needing attention without always having to be asked.

Schedule:

Two to four evenings per week, beginning at 5:30 PM and working until closing duties are complete. Friday and Saturday nights are required. Wednesday and Thursday shifts may be added depending on how busy we are.

Pay:

17-19 per hour, based on experience and responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:

Keeping dirty dishes moving efficiently through the machine Making sure dishes are completely clean and dry before putting them away Sorting and returning everything to its proper place Keeping the dish area clean, neat, and organized throughout the shift Wiping surfaces and cleaning floors, corners, equipment, and overlooked areas Cleaning and sanitizing garbage cans Flattening cardboard boxes and taking them to the dumpster Sweeping the back walkway and keeping it shoveled during snow season Helping the kitchen finish each evening clean and ready for the next day Providing general support to our chefs and kitchen staff wherever needed We are also happy to train someone interested in learning basic kitchen preparation, such as chopping vegetables. Kitchen experience is not required. A positive attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to help are what matter most. Reliability is extremely important. We need someone who will arrive on time for every scheduled shift and can be counted on by the entire team.
