Dishwasher Position Summary The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and dishwashing area. This position supports the kitchen and food service team by efficiently washing dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and other food-service equipment while following established sanitation and safety standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment. Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and according to established procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, kitchen, and designated food-service areas. Remove trash and recycling and maintain appropriate waste containers. Sweep and mop floors and assist with maintaining clean and safe walking surfaces. Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning and food-service support duties as needed. Keep dishwashing supplies stocked and notify the supervisor when supplies are low. Follow all food safety, sanitation, chemical handling, and workplace safety procedures. Assist with opening, closing, and cleaning duties as assigned. Work cooperatively with kitchen, banquet, dining, and clubhouse staff. Provide courteous and professional service to members, guests, and coworkers when interaction occurs. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements The physical requirements listed below are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift. Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, reach, twist, and move throughout the kitchen and dishwashing areas. Must be able to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull items associated with kitchen and food-service operations. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Must be able to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds . Must be able to push and pull carts, racks, garbage containers, and other kitchen equipment. Must have sufficient hand and arm coordination to handle dishes, utensils, cookware, cleaning equipment, and chemicals safely. Must be able to work in a hot, humid, wet, and occasionally noisy kitchen environment. Must be able to safely navigate wet floors and other typical kitchen conditions. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including appropriate non-slip footwear and other PPE as required. Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements associated with washing, scrubbing, drying, and storing dishes and equipment. Qualifications Previous restaurant, kitchen, or dishwashing experience preferred but not required. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area. Ability to follow food safety and sanitation requirements. Ability to work flexibly; days, evenings, and weekends.
