JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Purpose .............. Under the direction of the Dining Room Manager or Food Service Director this position is responsible for quality-of-service delivery during meal service and for compliance with special diets offered by the community. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Required ............
  • Able to follow communicated planning, directing, controlling, and coaching. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, strong personnel skills and positive community relations skills to be successful.

DUTIES Typical .............. 1.
Customer Service:
Under the direction of the Dining Room Manager or Food Service Director, supports the development of a positive customer service culture in the kitchen. Offers evaluation of the quality of service and develops systems to maximize the efficiency of meal delivery while maintaining a pleasant dining experience. 2. Station assignments Performs assigned side work that may include but is not limited to: doing the dishes, cleaning and restocking the kitchen, cleaning sinks/dishwasher, sweeping floors, taking out trash and recycling, mopping the floor, aiding cook when needed. 3. Compliance with
Sanitation and Dietary Guidelines:
Maintains a clean kitchen. This includes all equipment, walls, countertop. Making sure all clothing protectors are delivered to laundry. 4.
Safety Compliance:
The Dietary Aide is responsible for ensuring that they and any employees working with them work in a safe manner and that unsafe actions are to be managed. Compliance with Safety Committee Standards is required. 5.
Team Effectiveness:
The Dietary Aide is responsible for fostering teamwork with co-workers, showing initiative in overcoming obstacles, taking actions which assist others beyond job responsibilities, and having a positive impact on co-workers, residents and visitors. 6. Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Usual ................. Professional dining room environment. Uses basic equipment in the kitchen such as toasters, juice machines, coffee makers, etc. Verbally able to articulate in person and over the phone. Meeting minimum attendance requirements. Special ............... The Dietary Aide encounters stressful conditions dealing with residents, employees, and business activities. Also, must be able to work well under pressure, to resolve conflicts, to prioritize tasks, and follow through with ideas. Excellent verbal and written skills, interpersonal and mediation skills, ability to evaluate workers' performance, strong working knowledge of employment laws and company regulations. Must be able to work evenings and weekends and maintain a flexible work schedule.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
